Upper Class--Updated June 25, 2011
KY Top 10 many more rankings coming and more in this top 10
1
Reds Boys Astros TPS .....Duckhead........With 2 legendary Hall-of Famers at the helm--Red Moore(Red's) and Herb Price (Astros) it is no wonder they are dominating the region currently. Add National MVP's Bruce Hacker and Doug Martin to an already loaded roster and the future looks bright for last years 2 time National Champions.
2
Hustlers......Cadiz......Jon 'Lumpy' Williams MVP of this year's Ball Diamond leads this talented crew which includes the best hitter in the Bluegrass Chad Mullins. Pugs, Biscuit, and Fast Freddie give them the veterans needed to make a run at Red's and a promising post season.
3
Gutterworks/Easton......Louisville......Winning the recent Jim Beam and two earlier pre-season events vaults Cobbie's team to the 3rd spot in the rankings. Surprises include Landon Helms of Russell Springs putting up Mullins-like numbers while keeping the ball in the park and Johnny Leep having a break-out summer on the mound as indicated by his Jim Beam MVP Hardware.
4
Berties / Hub City Glass......Bowling Green/Etown......1st at the 502 Boyz was only highlight of 2011 until recent top 5 finishes at the Thoroughbred and Chattanooga's 50 team Pic-O-Dixie. Look for Garrien Martin to have his men ready as the southern Classic and post season rolls around.
5
Dizzy Roosters......Louisville......USSSA Specialists thanks in large part to 'Super" Joe on the mound. More impressive than their U-trip feats over the past few seasons was their win over Red's and a 2nd place finish behind Ky's # 1 at the Border Wars in Owensboro.
6
Sunny Daze......Louisville.....Winning the Thoroughbrd warrants keeping these guys in the top 10 despite a post-Tbred shakeup. Decent showing at the Dixie shows Clay will keep the "Daze of our Lives" competitive.
7
Ky Steel Erectors......Richmond......Newest acquisition Chad Hockensmith from CKS gives this group the best outfield in Kentucky combining their speed, offense, and defense. Having National and World MVP Shaun Ballard from powerhouse Jean Shoppe along with the aforementioned outfield should give the Erectors a chance at some late season titles once they start playing a little more.
8
Tyler Trucking/Tomcats.......Eastern .......With remnants from B and C the Tomcats are starting to build a little momentum especially from the USSSA side of things having one victory over the # 1 ranked team in the Great Lakes C Class-EAP Sports. Also wins over Legion and others in the U-trip ranks instilll a little hope for Pork's men come post season.
9
Player's Warehouse/TPS......Mt. Washington....Twice a National Champion just two years ago, Player's is in a rebuilding process with youth leading the way. Having been in several games against the finest competition in this area, the youngsters have managed to find ways to lose. Once they mature Leon's group could be the upset team for August and September. All in One
10
CKS Airmasters......Morehead......Gabe Gortney heads a roster full of talent yet to reach their full potential . My guess is getting everyone there every weekend has been their biggest problem. Look for them to play well in the state championships with a full lineup present and lots of winning experience including Bobby Doss and Josh Adams.
